Who Can Contribute?

You, your business, or your organization can get involved in the GMAT project in numerous ways. We use an open source model to encourage collaboration and to maximize technology transfer. Individuals, universities, industry, and other government organizations can contribute and collaborate in ways that meet their respective goals, needs, and interests.

GMAT contributors include volunteers and those paid for services they provide. We welcome new contributors to the project, either as users providing feedback about the features of the system, or developers interested in contributing to the implementation of the system.

Collaboration Opportunities

GMAT collaboration opportunities can be divided into two categories: technology development and technology application. Collaborators can participate in two primary ways: as volunteers or provide services for a fee. The diagram below shows a simple illustration of the primary collaboration types and how you can participate. Some collaborators may choose to volunteer to develop new technology while some may provide services using GMAT in support of flight projects. Others may volunteer some of their time, and provide services in other areas.
